“Moving Forward…Together,” The Chamber will honor local community visionaries who have created a positive impact on our region through the Business Citizen of the Year, Elected Official of the Year, Ambassador of the Year, and Military Affairs Award of Excellence awards as well as presenting the S. Jerrard Smith Community Service Award.

Keynote Pike Powers, having attracted two of the nation’s most ambitious projects around global competitiveness in electronics and providing new enterprise and corporate models for attracting and retaining technology-based activities, with emphasis on the role of research and development, will present his visionary and experiential approach to what works for an invigorated local business economy. He chairs the Energy Initiatives Committee of Innovate Texas, a state-wide, non-profit working with all six Texas public university systems, on a bi-partisan basis, supporting the state's multi-million dollar Emerging Technology Fund (ETF) which Powers helped create and start in 2005-2008.
